ERstat.ca — a live national data site, built and run solo

Real-time emergency-room wait times for hundreds of Canadian hospitals, on infrastructure I built and operate myself. One piece of the portfolio, and a good look at how I build.

100k+visits a month, live Canadian traffic
800+hospitals tracked in real time, coast to coast
5 mindata refresh, running unattended on a schedule

ERstat.ca shows Canadians how long the wait is at their local emergency room, updated continuously from official provincial sources. It started as a Nova Scotia project and now covers hundreds of hospitals across the country.

I designed, built, and operate the whole thing: the data pipeline that ingests and cleans wait times, the prediction model that fills gaps where live data is thin, the edge-rendered pages that stay fast under load, and the SEO architecture that gets those pages found. It runs on Cloudflare's edge with a serverless database, and there's no team behind it, just me.

Why it matters for your project

What it proves I can build

  • SEO that actually ranks. Thousands of pages found on Google nationally, the same programmatic-SEO approach I'd bring to your site.
  • Real-time data at scale. Ingesting, cleaning, and serving live data from many sources without it falling over.
  • Fast, edge-hosted infrastructure. Built on Cloudflare and AWS, the same stack I run for hundreds of production sites.
  • Shipped and maintained solo. No team, no hand-off, the person who built it is the person who keeps it running.

If you need a site that gets found, a system that handles real data, or infrastructure that stays up, this is the standard I build to.
