Custom Software & Integrations

For the jobs where off-the-shelf software runs out

When the tools you can buy don’t fit how you actually work, you either bend your business around them or build something that fits. I build the thing that fits.

Every growing business eventually hits the wall where the software they can buy stops matching how they work. That’s where custom development earns its keep: connecting the tools you already use, automating the parts that don’t need a human, and building the piece that doesn’t exist yet.

I’ve spent fifteen years as a full-stack developer building and maintaining production systems for Maritime businesses, from health platforms to live data sites like ERstat.ca. I take on integration, migration, and custom-build work across Canada and the US, scoped and quoted per project so you know the number before it starts. Honest assessments, realistic timelines, and code that works.

Track record

Fifteen years of production systems for Maritime businesses: health platforms, hosting infrastructure, integrations, and the odd 2 a.m. emergency fix. The public example is ERstat.ca, a live national data site built and run solo.

Custom Software & Integrations

The kind of work I take on

  • Custom web applications for the workflow no off-the-shelf product handles.
  • System and API integrations: Twilio voice and SMS, payments, bookings, or the two tools in your business that refuse to talk to each other.
  • AI integrations: quotes drafted from voicemails, invoices read straight into your books, an assistant that answers from your own documents.
  • Cloud architecture and cost optimization on AWS and Cloudflare, done by the person who runs the infrastructure.
  • Legacy migrations, emergency fixes, and performance tuning: aging systems brought current, slow sites sped up, and help when something is down.

Scoped and quoted per project. Everything starts with a free call and a flat written number, before any work begins.

FAQ

Questions about custom software & integrations

Do you work with businesses outside Nova Scotia?

Yes. Custom software, integrations, and hosting are location-independent, so I take on that work anywhere in Canada and the US.

Who actually writes the code?

I do, personally. Nothing is subcontracted and there’s no account manager between us. You talk to the person building it.

Can you take over an existing system?

Often, yes. I’ll review what you have and tell you honestly whether it’s worth extending or worth replacing, before you spend anything.

Describe the job the software isn’t doing

Plain language is fine; you don’t need to know what the fix looks like. I’ll reply with an honest read on whether it’s worth building.

Goes straight to me, and I read every one. Prefer to talk? (902) 500-5622.

Rather talk it through?

The call is free and takes twenty minutes, and you still get a flat written quote before anything begins.
